Annual Meeting
The Southwestern International Studies Association (SISA) Annual Meeting is held each spring as part of the Southwestern Social Science Association (SSSA) Annual Meeting. The meeting attracts a broad range of students and faculty from across the country and internationally. The annual meeting has panels from diverse subject areas within international studies and from a wide range of institutions, in addition to interdisciplinary panels in collaboration with the other SSSA affiliates.
2023 Meeting: Fort Worth, TX, Omni Hotel
2022 Meeting: San Antonio, TX, Hyatt Regency
This meeting had a special significance since SSSA hosted special events to celebrate our 100th anniversary, which was postponed due to COVID-19.
2021 Meeting: New Orleans, LA, The Monteleone
SSSA held its first-ever hybrid annual meeting in New Orleans with participants attending in-person and virtually.
2020 Meeting: Austin, TX, Hyatt Regency (cancelled)
The Austin 2020 Annual Meeting was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2019 Meeting: San Diego, CA, Manchester Grand Hyatt
