It is with great sadness that the Southwestern Social Science Association mourns the passing of former president Dr Alexander John Kondonassis.
Dr Kondonassis served as SSSA president for the 1984 Annual Meeting held in Fort Worth. He was a very active member of the Southwestern Economics Association prior to his service as president.
Born in Athens, Greece, he attended the University of Athens and DePauw University. He received his graduate education at Indiana University. He joined the faculty in Economics at the University of Oklahoma in 1958 and went on to win numerous honors for his teaching and research during his outstanding career.
