The Southwestern Social Science Association Council announced today the creation of the SSSA’s first-ever series of travel grants to aid students to attend the Annual Meeting. Up to ten awards of $300 will be given to students, with at least one student in each affiliate member to receive such an award.
This program is a major point of emphasis for SSSA President Pascal Ngoboka, who put together a committee led by SSSA past-past president Patrick Barr-Melej to formulate the awards.
Those interested in applying for one of the travel grants should can find further information on the SSSA Annual Meeting Student Travel Grants page. The deadline to apply is July 31, with the winners notified by August 30. Award winners will be formally recognized during the Annual Meeting at the presidential reception and other events.
